Demons have prowess of saints but are no saints. They reside in one corner of lower heaven and in the realms of Hell enjoying their prowess and control over others. They are like fallen angels that the West often talked about.
They are manifestly selfish and are desirous of personal gains in any relationship. They benefit themselves and only benefit others if they stand to gain more for themselves.
Demons desire undivided loyalty by followers and are jealous and angry if the followers show inclinations to other sects or heavenly beings.
God and saints are the opposite. They are open minded, never jealous and accept that men and beings have free will.
Saints do not set conditions for giving blessings. You do not have to barter trade with and do not end up selling your soul to them. They help you enrich your soul.
You give pretty little back in return for blessings though they hope you develop yourself spiritually and enrich your soul. They bless so that you can be better off to harness wholesome goodness in both spiritual and mundane.
Demons desire that you serve them and you may be damned if you don't. A saint rejoices when you also find solace in other saints.
Many demons make use of places of worship for their own ends. They deceptively take on the role of God and saints.
Blame not God or the saint of a temple when this happens. Man has been taught doctrine by the saint of the temple but if there is no grasp and practice, they will stray and be susceptible.
Moreover, we must reflect on what Lord Bo Tien said that a flower cannot be blamed for insects coming to it.
