Man should not adore and adulate man at the pedestal of a temple or church. When a leader is in office and more so if charismatic, congregation may see only the bright side and not the dark side. There is always two sides to a person. When he is gone, they may see the dark side and condemn him. Doesn't that tell us the nature of man? Doesn't this ring a bell?
But saints like Lord Bo Tien know fully well of this tendency of man. Man after all is man. Saints however look at both sides and endeavour to nurture more goodness in men so that men can be more good.
Saints do not enforce but nurture the men within free will and self development. That is, men must learn from life and make good even have more good.
God and saints help those who help themselves.
Men must be wiser and not be carried away by the fallacy of bowing to man at the pedestal and running him down when he is no longer around.
Running down an ex-leader is like that of wild dogs running down the ex-alpha leader in the pack after it was replaced by another. Won't this be sad that the animal pack characteristic also affects men?
But there is hope as there are men who rise above pack mentality. Prophets of God and saints were and will in future still be men and they are great examples of how men can be good and God-like.
