Reference: Lord Bo Tien's 1978 Anniversary Message
In 1978 mission day message, the lord saint noted that members were in unison in prayer kneeling down before the altar in one color to invite him to grace the occasion. But the lord saint asked why only on that special occasion and why not everyday 365 days a year with the image of the saint at the temple.
He delivered his last mission day message in 1984 and let it be known that he had passed down his doctrine in the first 13 years and there would be no more need for him to address followers thereafter unless they could be of one heart though coming from different angles and perspectives.
Even in the first 13 years when there were periodic descents of the lord saint to address followers, this was difficult. It would be not surprising given that there would be no further descent of the lord saint after the first 13 years, that oneness of heart amidst diversity of interests would be more hard to come by after 1984.
But if followers realise that the doctrine is the saint and the saint is the doctrine, they should feel the presence of the saint 365 days in a year. They would be one amidst the diversity of groups. There should be no parting of ways due to partisan approach but oneness in diversity should still hold true. What is even more true is that this applies to any temple or church as well.
After all, brothers may be different in many ways but they are of one family.
Followers of a temple or church may be different in ways and approaches but they are one in the saint or prophet they look up to. Likewise the believers of God and Heaven may hail from the various sects and religions but they are still one in God.
The various parts of the flower are different but they make up the flower. By themselves, the parts are ugly but coming together as whole, they make up the beautiful flower.
