Learning Point No 300
Why did Lord Bo Tien set up Chinese Taoistic style temples when he clearly said that he is not here to champion or favor any religion or sect?
The answer is that he wanted and still wants to show that even in such cultural temple, there is the same basic inner truth found in all religions and that all irrespective of religion or orientation can be enlightened and be saints with God.
If this is the case then in future, when people are more perceptive that even a Chinese temple is as good as any other temple or church in richness in spirituality, then there is no need for such a temple.
But what is a temple. Even Jesus as man years ago was in a temple on many occasions.
We must realise that a temple is just a place of gathering or a center where people could congregate for discussion and practice of goodness and how to be more close to or be a bit more like God and his saints.
There is no need to label it a specific religious temple though this has been the norm for centuries.
Thus Bo Tien temple of the future must depict that of the universal temple with sky or heaven as the roof and religions are all under the roof. Religions are the pillars of the temple.
If this is so, it is just natural that the shrine should just be a general shrine. People of all religious affiliation can use and share the shrine.
There will be no images of Lord Bo Tien, Buddha or any saint. There will only be the shrine shaped like the Bagua to reflect need for harmony of soft and hard aspects, the yin and yang and the harmony of religions.
As there are seven days a week. each major religion can conduct a service on a specific day of the week. The paraphernalia of Chinese culture must be minimized to make way for this realization.
On the day of service of a specific religion or sect, hologram of the saints or icon of the religion e.g. the cross of Christ should be projected and hymns and prayers similarly projected for the congregation of that religion.
Then truly such a temple would live up to the Inner Truth or Four Pillar Doctrine for which Lord Bo Tien is but a messenger.
Dear friends, do not think that just because the lord saint projected himself as a Chinese general, he is a general. He is no general. This he reiterated

The richly colored military garb reflects the vast variety of races and beliefs in this world and all are dear to God and saints.
His feet atop the elements of yin and yang reflects the need to balance opposites or different approaches.
His feet atop the elements of yin and yang reflects the need to balance opposites or different approaches.
His right hand holds the scepter of the mission of the inner truth behind all religions and sects.
His left hand in salutation bids us to be steady and steadfast and that he will open the way for the mission.
This post is just a glimpse of the future Bo Tien temple. Let us wait for this to happen. God bless.
