The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord (武天) Bo Tien. The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affliliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven.

Do not bribe your way to God and saints

Learning Point No 297

Bribery is a crime in many countries and yet in religion, this somehow is condoned either directly or indirectly.

A nation needs to collect taxes either directly or indirectly but these are not bribes.

A temple or church can collect subscriptions or membership fees. These too are not bribes but are necessary for running a temple or church.

But to collect oil money or tithes is another matter. Tithes if mandatory like membership fees are justifiable but if not may invite queries.

Certainly money collected is for running a temple or church but such collection must not be on excuse that God or his saints need the money.

God and saints of all religions

God and saints do not need our money or food offerings but they do need our commitment to be good and to do good so that we can progress and make good and subsequently help others to do so. Then one day we can be with God and saints.

They would rather give to us and at no time do we need to give to them. It is just like Chinese culture when men give money to wandering spirits by burning hell money to them in hope of relieving their suffering and bribing them to let men live in peace.

Do men need hell money from these spirits? Certainly not and it would be disgusting to many.

Well, put yourself in the shoes of God and saints. Do they need our human currency. They don't and it would be distasteful for men to offer them money.

Ji Gong

Ji Gong is one such saint but different from other saints. He would be blunt and tell you through human intermediary that he is aghast by men who offered him money.  He leads the way for all saints to make men learn not to bribe God and saints.

So dear readers, do not bribe your way to God and saints.

Bo Tien Temple has set the good role model for all temples and churches. You cannot bribe God and saints at the temple.

But even after paying membership fees if you are a member, you can put money in donation box. The money is not meant for God and saints but for the temple to run and manage the premises, festivals and charities.

Human money even in the billions are not meant for God and saints just like hell money by the trillions are not meant for men and of no use to men though in Chinese culture valued by the spirits of hell.
