The emissary of Lord Bo Tien in 1983 mission day message said that what human beings can have cannot be the same as what are
in Heaven. Take for example the flower. As a whole and when in full bloom, the
flower is a beauty to behold. But the various parts of the flower are not. From
external appearance, it is beautiful but the internal parts never will be
beautiful. (Extract from Revisit of 1983 message of Lord Bo Tien)
Life is beautiful yet ugly and this is the very nature of life. The circle is complete and yet it is nothing. The circle is whole and yet it is empty. Do not be perturbed by this duality but be mindful to achieve heaven on earth by cultivating more enduring pervasive inner peace come what may and in every situation and context of life.
No one is spared of yin and yang, the life polarities or contingencies that we live with from birth to death and from life to life. Are we going to be at the mercy of yin and yang or do we want to be atop and balance the yin and yang, like achieved by the buddhas and as embodied by the pose of Lord Bo Tien with feet atop and balancing the elements?
Do try to be a buddha in life and at least have many more moments of peace of heaven on earth here and now, long before you are a buddha in a future lifetime to come.
