Whilst we may aspire for goals in life, how should we handle matters if we cannot attain them. Do we live in anguish or do we accept and try again? Perhaps we should be at peace while trying again but also be prepared to be at peace even if we no longer want to try or could not make it with repeat tries. We should also accept matters if even after getting what we want, we cannot have them for long or we are still dissapointed. We should tell ourselves thus. "So be it" and this in Hebrew is "Amen"
This is the same doctrine of the inner truth - the need to be at peace with the ups and downs of life and death. So do try to be better but do accept whatever the outcome. Not trying is to deny life and give up and is contrary to the spirit of life which is to live and to accept life, not reject life.
Surely we must make do with what we can have and move on telling ourselves --- "so be it"
This means we must make life work and not work for life. Meditate on this and you will end up saying "so be it." Amen
