The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord (武天) Bo Tien. The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affliliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven.

Plea bargains with God may still be alright

Learning Point No 382

Often men enter into plea bargains with God. Men would even barter trade with God their undivided allegiance so long as God give in to their plea bargains.

In some eastern traditions of the orient, all men want are to have more fortune such as luck at the gambling table or in a lottery draw, even an illegal one that may run foul of the law of the land.

Some cultures even have outright offer of paper money and gold to God and his saints as though God and saints need them. They don't if they are God and saints.

But the very intent and act of giving even if done with less honorable spiritual motive would in itself be meritorious, that is, it will attract goodness of sorts for the giver. Yes, it is the act that counts but what is better and more worthy is the intent behind the act.

Modern day men of 2013 with education and globalisation, are more savvy. They no longer say to God, "Please give me more as I am giving you." But now they say, "God, I am yours and you will provide."

This is alright and above board but do we need to give to God before He will give to us, more so if He is God? The answer is both "Yes" and "No".

For most, it is alright but for the discerning and more spiritual, this may be not as good as men must relate to God in sincere and unconditional ways. There should be no semblance of plea bargain as any such would make a mockery of God and what He stands for.

But God is understanding as like children, we want reward when doing good and the best is to do good to none other than God. We prefer to do good to God or in God's name instead of just good to our fellow men and we expect or to put it bluntly, we expect pay back or kickbacks for doing good, for giving to God.

We seem to set pre-conditions that God will give to us because we are going to give to God. To God, this is not wrong and still good as a start, but we must go further than that.

Thus many will tell God that they commit to God and will bring other men to God but in their minds they want blessings from God and be assured of paradise.

Can't men be better than that? They will in time to come. God has no issue with them but only men who think they are wise may think otherwise. God is God and man is man after all

God is not petty but the same cannot be said with men. Plea bargains with God may still be alright. Some burn jos papers to God whilst others offer their souls.

They may even try to hold God to ransom if what they want God cannot give. God can accept that but some men who think they can speak and act for God, won't and that is a fact.

God does not need proxies to act on His behalf. That too is a fact.

Even His saints are not His proxies. They in fact act on their own merit but, of course, in concert with Him. That too is a reality we can accept.
