From: Revisit of Lord Bo Tien's 1974 message
Lord Bo Tien in 1974 mission day message said, "There is, however, a simpler method in which prayers can be realised and met. As there will be large gathering in a temple or fraternity, there is bound to be someone amongst the group who could be able to contribute his services to fellow brethren. To this end, members of the gathering or group should network, have fellowship and be supportive to one another. They should help one another and be blessing to one another."

Lord Bo Tien reminded in 1974
that a simpler way for prayer
to be answered is through
the help of fellow brethren.
This truth is so simple,
yet ever that profound
but difficult to perceive
as Bro P. Philip did say.
Bro Alfred Toh Teck Kok
was able to answer
the prayers of the needy
by putting into place
"mutual help and care"
as service to the needy
in the name of the lord saint,
so that others may
continue the good works.
But even better than this
is the gift of truth
that enables souls to be saved.
These others who continued
Alfred's good works
should go beyond good works
and go for for the gift of truth.
The best gift and charity
is the gift of truth
that leads to enlightenment
the saving of souls.
This did the Buddha say.
"The gift of truth excels
over all others."
This is the objective
of the Mission
by Lord Bo Tien:
To save souls |
