Quote No 19
From: Revisit of Lord Bo Tien's 1974 message
Lord Bo Tien said in 1974, "A temple will attract people of various characteristics, some good and some not so good. These will be contrasted for all in the group and be noticeable. Learn and absorb as much of the good points of others. Do also learn from the weaknesses and mistakes, so that these will not be repeated in their own life.

Lord Bo Tien says that we can
learn from the lives of others
and not just from our own.
Life is the living gospel.
No man is a saint
unless he has achieved.
At best, he may be
an unpolished diamond
Many have breached precepts
the very basic to be spiritual.
No respect for elders is one,
coveting others' wives
and no respect for other saints
are not that uncommon,
even amongst men of faith,
for there will be insects
coming to a flower.
A saint too can choose
to train the wayward
if he so divines,
even a criminal as well.
Such is divine benevolence.
Otherwise why the asertion
by Lord Jesus that
man is saved by grace of God
and not by good works alone.
For man too always has
that significant other
unsavory deeds in his life.
So learn but not judge
Judge not lest ye be judged,
Work with all
even those others
you see not eye to eye,
for yin and yang there
always will be
for us to balance
and be atop
to have true peace
the inner truth way.
A saint like the lord
never decrees that
a temple is for you
and not for them.
This you and all
must know now
and ever more
or face the music
even in the afterlife.
Onerous is life
again and again.
Why the longer road
when a shorter road
you can have? |
