The Living Life Series is dedicated to Lord (武天) Bo Tien. The doctrine is in His image. The image is the doctrine. He who sees, understands and effects the doctrine sees and knows Him. He who does not see, know and effect the doctrine sees not and knows not the saint even if the saint or His image is beside him. The far may be near and the near may be far. Let the doctrine and the saint be part of our life. The lord saint in your life can be any heavenly saint of any religion, sect or school. The doctrine of truth is behind all and this is the Inner Truth that leads all (regardless of their religious affliliation or even if none) to inner peace and heaven on earth here and now and not just in the after life. The ideal worship and devotion is to know and effect the doctrine of God and the saints. The best gospel is the gospel of life. We learn from our life and the lives of others. The true temple is the world we live in. The sky is the roof of the temple and religions and sects are the pillars of the temple. All under Heaven are in the temple. The whole wide world and web is the temple and must be regarded as a sacred place --- a temple for living and learning. It is more important that everyone that counts plays a role in this universal temple if due focus is to be given to the Mission of Heaven. Men must not be distracted by the agenda of men and end up serving the mission of man. That would be a far cry from the Mission of Heaven.

On prayers, life and fate

Quote No 16

Lord Bo Tien:
"Do understand that
there is the element of fate,
which, in some instances,
any heavenly saint might
not be able to alter significantly"

Lord Bo Tien in 1975 said, "Followers and well wishers of a temple or organisation must learn to accept that not all the wishes and aspirations, be it personal or otherwise, be granted or supported when they pray to their saint. There are some who come with troubled and heavy hearts while others may not have this heaviness of heart. However, like those who come to this Temple, they come to seek for something from the saint."

"Do understand that there is the element of fate, which, in some instances, any heavenly saint might not be able to alter significantly. This fact, if accepted earlier would be better for all. In addition, do not forget that it is the characteristic of (transient) life to have feelings of happiness and sadness. This is the very nature of life. Every being or man will experience the ups and downs in life. Heaven can often and otherwise do something. Saints can be of assistance and blessings but men must accept fate and the hallmarks of life with its ups and downs."

The challenges of a new temple

Lord Bo Tien said that
approaches in his temple
may arouse concerns
but this should not matter
as when the doubters
come to understand,
they will appreciate
and have more confidence

A temple being new has to face many challenges as it grows and evolves.

The precepts and doctrines may not be new and different from that of others. However, a new temple like that of the lord saint can have approaches which can appear to be very different and contrasting. This can give rise to concerns and opinions simply because they may not be readily understood and accepted.

There will be disquiet. It is alright to object or to differ. Some just cannot understand at the current point in time. This is beneficial for all and members must convey this clearly to them. Moreover, concerns and objections arise because of inability to understand and grasp. They do not indicate lack of faith in the saint. Once elucidated and clarified, they will have no more doubts and be within the folds of the fraternity even more steadfastly and with confidence and commitment.

The Three Sitiawan Pointers

Quote No 14

For more, go to The Three Sitiawan Pointers

Lord Bo Tien's three statements
at Sitiawan in 1975 are noteworthy.
Why did He delivered these three
and of all places at Sitiawan
at northern part of peninsular Malaysia?
Would He have delivered the same
in any other place for the matter?
The answer would be obvious
to those who understand
but not to those who don't

Lord Bo Tien had said in 1975 at Sitiawan temple two days after mission day of 13th day of nine lunar month at Singapore : -

(1) Those who pray with sincere heart to the saint, the saint will take heed and those who seek the saint for blessings, the saint will come to bless them.

(2) Big issue will be small issue and small issues will be no issue

(3) The far may be near and the near may be far.

3. I must not kill.
4. I must not steal and do what is extremely bad to harm my neighbours or their belongings.
5. I must not covet my
neighbour’s
wife.
6. I must respect my parents and all those elder than me.
7. I must not bear false witnesses against my neighbours

Believe in all saints

Quote No 12

From Indepth discussion on Messages before 1974

Lord Bo Tien said that we must
respect all religions and saints.
Not doing so will breed
bigotry and intolerance
It is God's will that there be
more religions and sects
to meet the diverse needs
and ultimately
to reach out to all men.
Everyone has a place
even the unlikely
amongst men.
Men may forsake men
but God and saints
will not forsake
even criminals
amongst men

There are seven precepts for followers of Lord Bo Tien and the second precept is: I must believe in what all the Saints preach in words, thoughts, deeds and all that are written.

Rebirth is the will of God

Quote No 11

From Indepth discussion on Messages before 1974

Lord Bo Tien
enables us to know thus.
Without rebirths, there will be
no second chance.
Rebirths offer numerous
second chances for beings.
But isn't it better
to make it at one go
and not come back
again and again

Beings go through rebirths so as to improve themselves and progress from ignorance to enlightenment, from wrong to right and from darkness to light and from light to more light. Beings go from impediments and hindrances (nirvarana) to the ultimate rightness in divine purity and inner peace (eternalism or nirvana - enlightenment)

Rebirth is in the will of God and can take many forms and at all levels and dimensions.

Mission of Heaven

Quote No 10

From Indepth discussion on Messages before 1974

Lord Bo Tien
also wants us to know
that there is more
than welfare works.
There is ultimately
the need to save souls
so that they will not
be lost in incessant rebirths

Lord Bo Tien with regards to religions and the Mission of Heaven: The primary motive is to save souls (purification or enlightenment) and assist those in difficulties (compassion and love for beings)

Religions in overall Divine Plan of God

Lord Bo Tien

Lord Bo Tien:  " The various religions shall spell out their own guidelines in the form of precepts, commandments or tenets. These will be formalised and be evolved as dogmas."

"Each religion has it own representative of Divinity what some may call prophets, arahats or saints."

"These saints will then have their own disciples, doctrines and regulations."

"Each religion will manage and govern its own affairs, its own way of preaching and dissemination and will have own way of reaching out to the masses and how to keep the followers within their circles. Thus the various religions can fan out and reach out to beings in all corners. They can complement and at times compete for the good and welfare of the many. They are pillars for mankind and beings to lean on and to guide them to God and enlightenment."

The House of God for all

Lord Bo Tien

Religions are the pillars of the House of God. The Heavens and divinity comprising God, the Pure Ones and the Saints are roof to shelter the beings under the heavens.

The pillars guide beings to the huge mansion and are the markers for the mansion, otherwise beings will not be able to know that they are in the vicinity or in the House of God as this house is omnipresent and yet many may not see or be able to know and be in the house.

Religions are the same though different

Quote No 7

From Indepth discussion on Messages before 1974

Lord Bo Tien

Lord Bo Tien in reference to his temple wants us to know why a temple in his name in all intents and purposes is the same as the many others in the world as far as the various precepts and practices are concerned but yet can have fresh approaches which may not be easily understood and can cause confusion and misunderstanding.

Likewise,  it must be realised that the precepts and doctrines in any temple or spiritual organisation may not be new and different from that of others. However, any new temple or church can have approaches which can appear to be very different and contrasting. This can give rise to concerns and opinions simply because that temple or church may not be readily understood and accepted.  Thus do not point fingers but try to understand why they are the same though different

Quote No 6

Lord Bo Tien

Lord Bo Tien representatives said thus: ."...the lord saint wants his followers not to do what others are already doing but to lead by examples so that others may follow, emulate and re-orientate themselves closer to the way of God rather than to man."

Change in orientation over time for every religion

Lord Bo Tien

Lord Bo Tien "Dogmas evolved over centuries after the founder's death frequently differ startlingly, unexpectedly, inadvertently and at times even uncannily in emphasis from the preliminary teachings for each faith and between faiths and sects."

The Inner Truth behind religions

Lord Bo Tien

The Inner Truth

Lord Bo Tien: "I want to turn man's mind away from being clouded by sectarian differences, so that man sees with clarity the truth in life. Man must cultivate insight on inner truth aspects that are common to and the basis of all faiths."

"Be insightful though of this aspect. Every saint and prophet considered the times, the circumstances and the prevailing mentality of the people before delivering appropriate sermon. Every saint or prophet would deliver doctrines in the format and style best suited to the prevailing times, people and needs"

God Knowledge

Quote No 2

God Almighty and the saints

Lord Bo Tien: "...the fundamentals of all religions and sects remain the same and enduring, because all originate from the same source -- GOD. Thus, when I deliver the GOD knowledge (Jade Emperor's teachings tau-li or tou-li), I shall neither comment (e.g. critique, judge) on existing religion nor commend (e.g. favor, prefer, highlight, be selective, be bias) any as the special one. All are unique and serve the divine plan in their own way."

Nothing new but better insight

Quote No 1

From   Indepth discussion on Messages before 1974

Lord Bo Tien: "I shall not attempt to establish any new religion, cult or organisation. But I shall rekindle and re-invigorate the religious thought of all people and instill a higher understanding of life in them."
